LGBTQIA+ is an umbrella term that encompasses both sexual and gender identities, recognising that not everyone identifies as heterosexual and/or cisgender.

Waikiki HealthWaikiki Health offers numerous programs specifically created for the LGBTQ community. They provide STI/HIV testing, PrEP clinic, counseling, and medical case management to patients living with HIV/AIDS. They match volunteers (visitors) with members of the South Florida Institute on Aging’s LGBTQ community to provide companionship and combat loneliness. They focus particularly on Black, Latinx, immigrant, LGBTQ+, disabled folx, and other communities that show statistically higher rates of mental health challenges and/or lack of access to affordable and accessible mental wellness options that practice cultural humility.

Access and Coverage for Mental Health Care for Women
AMAAD InstituteAMAAD provides support services, community support, and resources centered around specialized, strength-based management and services and leadership development with a focus on LGBTQ people of color. Additionally, The Source LGBT+ Center partners with Tulare County Suicide Prevention Taskforce and Heartworks, Inc to provide LGBTQ+ affirming care to people who lack access to mental health services and support groups. They provide full primary care including hormone therapy, mental health care, sexual health screening and care, and surgical referral.
This 501(c)(3) grassroots organization explicitly focuses on supporting individuals belonging to marginalized communities. This helpline focuses on providing culturally-responsive support to Native American and Alaska Native survivors, family members, and friends affected by domestic, dating and sexual violence. This hotline is available 24/7, via call and mobile app, and provides peer-support, crisis-support, and an avenue to report vigilante and police misconduct. Nevertheless, some family members may react negatively to their relative coming out and familial rejection is a significant factor for compromised LGBTQIA+ mental health.
